Zapata Peninsula
– jump into the swamp!
(1 day, from Havana)

After breakfast, we meet with a guide and drive from Havana towards the Zapata Peninsula National Park. A short visit to the mini-zoo and crocodile farm, where we will see both several-month-old crocodiles and adults. Then we will sail on a motorboat (or catamaran) cruise along the Zapata canals, where we will observe the mangrove forests and look out for different species of birds. We will walk through the reconstruction of an Indian village and taste crocodile meat. In the afternoon, we will go to the Bay of Pigs, where we will swim in the Caribbean Sea and in a nearby cenote (possibility of renting snorkeling equipment for a fee). All-inclusive lunch with drinks included. At the end, we will look for hummingbirds and we will return to Havana.
