Round trip itinerary
Day 1
Arrival in Havana, airport check-in and transfer to a casa particular in the city center. Accommodation, dinner on your own, overnight stay. In case of arrival in the morning hours, you can add to your itinerary a cooking lesson – „Flavors of Havana” or an excursion of the city’s panoramic terraces – „Havana rooftops” (additional fee).
Day 2
After breakfast, meeting with your local guide and a walk to Central Park, where we will see the Grand Theatre and the oldest hotels on the island and visit the interior of the Capitol – a monumental building created as the seat of the Cuban parliament. Then we will walk through Paseo del Prado to the former Presidential Palace, which now houses the Museum of the Revolution (from the outside) and sit down for a coffee in one of the many cafes in the vicinity of Angel’s Hill. From here, we will walk along Port Avenue with a view of the Havana fortifications to Plaza de Armas – the place where Havana was founded, with the oldest fortress in the city and the Governor’s Palace. Near Cathedral Square, we will have lunch at the local restaurant, and after it we will head towards Obispo street and the Old Square with its colonial architecture and a small brewery. Then there will be a salsa class with Cuban instructors near Saint Francis Square and a water tram ride across the Bay of Havana to the statue of Christ, from where there is a magnificent panorama of the city. We will see memorabilia related to the so-called „nuclear crisis” and we will participate in the cannon shot ceremony from the fortress of San Carlos de la Cabaña – cañonazo – which marked the moment of closing the city gates. Return to the place of accommodation for the night or for those willing, dinner and show at the famous Tropicana cabaret, which before the revolution delighted the eyes of many an American mafioso (additional charge).
Day 3
After breakfast, we meet with a guide and take a coco-taxi for photos at Callejón de Hammel – a colourful street with numerous murals inspired by Afro-Cuban culture and religion. Then we’ll visit a cigar factory, followed by a ride in an American convertible. The first stop will be the legendary National Hotel, visited by celebrities, where we will have a drink. From here we will go to the Malecón – Havana’s emblematic seafront promenade and meeting place for its inhabitants, which will lead us to the exclusive Miramar neighborhood with its Fifth Avenue full of embassies. Then we will glide through El Bosque de La Habana (Havana Forest), the area of the historic Christopher Columbus Cemetery and through the Revolution Square for a small rum tasting with an explanation of the rum production process. In the afternoon we will have lunch at the local restaurant and time to buy souvenirs at the Mercado de San José. Return to the place of accommodation. Dinner with the Buena Vista Social Club concert may be added to the itinerary (additional charge, return to the accommodation place on your own).
Day 4
After breakfast, check out and we will head towards Pinar del Río province to one of the most beautiful corners of Cuba. The Viñales Valley, famous for its tobacco plantations, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999. We will start the excursion with photos at Los Jazmines viewpoint, from where you can admire the majestic limestone mogots. Then we will explore one of these rocks from the inside during a visit to the Indian Cave and a short boat trip on an underground river. After lunch at the local restaurant, we will visit a nearby tobacco plantation, where we will learn the secrets of rolling Cuban cigars (with the possibility of tasting and shopping). For those willing (for an additional fee), a short horse ride around the Viñales area. At the end, we will drink a piña colada under the Mural of Prehistory – one of the largest wall paintings in the world – and we will check-in at a casa particular in Viñales. In the evening, a short walk around the town, and for those willing, dinner (extra fee).
Day 5
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Soroa – a town with a beautifully situated botanical garden specializing in orchids, where we also learn about other numerous species of Cuban flora. Then we will visit a former coffee plantation and drink a great coffee in Las Terrazas, from where we will drive towards Zapata Peninsula National Park. Upon arrival, lunch with a crocodile meat, followed by a visit to a crocodile farm. At the end, we will look for hummingbirds and check-in in Playa Larga. In the evening, going out for a dinner (extra charge).
Day 6
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the Bay of Pigs, where we will swim in the Caribbean Sea and in a nearby cenote (possibility of renting snorkelling equipment for a fee). All-inclusive lunch with drinks included. In the afternoon, time for photos at Playa Girón – site of the 1961 American invasion of Cuba – and transfer to Cienfuegos – a city called the „Cuban Pearl of the South”. We will visit the center of the town: the main square with the buildings of the town hall, cathedral and the Tomas Terry Theater, the boulevard and the monument of Benny More. Then we will drive through Paseo del Prado (the longest promenade in Cuba) and Malecón for a drink at the beautiful Palacio del Valle. Accommodation in a casa particular and overnight stay. For those willing, dinner at the local restaurant (extra fee).
Day 7
After breakfast, check-out and departure to El Nicho waterfall – one of the most beautiful in Cuba. Short trekking, time for photos and swimming in natural pools. From here we will take a picturesque route along the Caribbean Sea to Trinidad – the most typical and best preserved colonial city of Cuba (UNESCO World Heritage Site). We will go for a walk along the cobbled streets to one of the palaces of the sugar barons (visiting the interior), and then to the main square – Plaza Mayor, near which we will find other historic buildings, including the Church of the Holy Trinity and the former Franciscan monastery. After lunch with seafood at the local restaurant, visit to the Afro-Cuban temple of santería and the famous Canchanchara bar, where we will taste a drink based on honey, lime and aguardiente. Time to buy souvenirs and transfer to a casa particular. Check-in and short rest. In the evening going out for dinner (additional fee) and a party in one of the music clubs (return on foot on your own).
Day 8
After breakfast transfer to the beach on the Caribbean Sea on the Ancón Peninsula. Lunch at the local restaurant. In the afternoon, free time in Trinidad or (optionally and for an additional fee) a horseback riding excursion through the surrounding villages to the foothills of the Sierra Escambray Mountains and time to swim in the natural pools. Coffee tasting along the way. Return to Trinidad, dinner (additional fee) and overnight stay.
Day 9
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the Sugar Mills Valley. On the way, we will stop at a viewing point, where those willing will be able to try their hand at a canopy tour – zipline above the Valley (additional fee). Then we will visit the Manaca Iznaga estate (a hacienda of sugar cane planters, a viewing tower and freshly squeezed cane juice – guarapo). From here it is not far to the provincial capital – Sancti Spíritus. A walk from the main square to the oldest stone bridge in Cuba, built over the Yayabo River, lunch and transfer to Camagüey. Check-in at the hotel, dinner (additional fee) and overnight stay.
Day 10
After breakfast, check-out of the hotel, a short visit to the local market and a tour by bicycle rickshaw of the labyrinthine city: San Juan Square with merchant houses, Carmen’s Square with interesting sculptures by Martha Jímenez and Agramonte Park – the main square of Camagüey. Lunch at a local restaurant and departure towards Holguín. Upon arrival in the city, drive up the Hill of the Cross with a viewpoint and a short walk around the center. Check in at the hotel, dinner (additional fee) and overnight stay.
Day 11
After an early breakfast, check-out and drive towards Cayo Saetía (breakfast possible on the way). Since in the past it was a holiday destination for party officials, wild animals were bred there especially for them, running freely around the island and hunting was organized. We will go on a safari with cameras, during which we will see zebras, ostriches and antelopes, and then we will sunbathe on a paradise island and have lunch. In the afternoon we will go to the Alexander von Humboldt National Park – the largest protected nature area on the island. The program includes: a short stop at the educational center, then transfer to Baracoa for the night. Check-in at the hotel, dinner (additional fee) and evening outing to the Casa de la Trova.
Day 12
After an early breakfast, visit to a cocoa plantation and walk around Baracoa –from the Christopher Columbus monument, through the Malecón to the La Punta observation point and to the main square with the Nuestra Señora de la Asunción Cathedral. Then lunch at a local restaurant and an excursion to the Yumuri river canyon. The plan includes: viewpoints, a boat trip, a shor walk along the canyon, time for a swim in the river, observation of polymitas snails characteristic of eastern Cuba and numerous photo stops. Return to the hotel, dinner (additional fee) and overnight stay.
Day 13
After breakfast, check-out and drive through the mountain road – La Farola – and the area around Guantanamo Bay (with the famous military base that is a symbol of the conflict between Cuba and the USA) to Santiago de Cuba – the second largest city on the island. After arrival, time for photos at the Revolution Square and the Moncada barracks (where the Cuban revolution began). Then a walk through the city’s historic squares (Plaza de Marte, Plaza Dolores with the school where young Fidel Castro studied and Parque Cespedes). Free time and lunch at a local restaurant, and in the afternoon a visit to the oldest house in Cuba – Casa Velázquez – with furniture collections from the XVI to the XIX century. At the end, a walk through the Tivoli district with the famous Padre Pico stairs to the port. Accommodation at a hotel in Santiago de Cuba. Dinner (additional fee) and overnight stay.
Day 14
After breakfast, a trip to the Baconao Biosphere Reserve, where numerous attractions await us: amidst lush vegetation, we will climb to the top of Gran Piedra (a 63000-ton boulder, which is a great viewpoint located at an altitude of 1225 m above sea level), visit in the La Isabelica Museum, associated with the arrival of French immigrants to the island and the coffee plantations they introduced, as well as visit the Ave del Paraiso botanical garden. We will also pass through the Valley of Prehistory with 200 giant sculptures of dinosaurs and mammoths. Lunch and time for the beach in the afternoon. Return to the hotel for dinner (additional fee) and overnight stay.
Day 15
After breakfast, check out and visit the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery, where members of the Bacardi family, fighters for the country’s independence, are buried – including José Martí and, more recently, Fidel Castro. We’ll go for a rum tasting at the factory that once belonged to the Bacardi family and visit El Morro fortress, which defends the entrance to Santiago Bay. Lunch and then transfer to the most important Marian sanctuary on the island – El Cobre. Late afternoon, a short visit to the main square in Bayamo and check-in at the hotel. Dinner (extra charge) and overnight stay.
Day 16
After breakfast, check-out and long transfer to the 5* all-inclusive hotel on one of the islands of the Jardines del Rey archipelago (Cayo Coco / Cayo Güillermo / Cayo Paredón). Lunch on the way. Accommodation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 17
Relax at the all-inclusive hotel on one of the most beautiful Cuban beaches: swimming in the ocean and pools, use of bars, restaurants, water sports equipment and hotel animation and sports programs.
Day 18
After breakfast, check-out and drive to the area of Caibarién to the former Marcelo Salado sugar mill, which houses the Sugar Industry Museum. Then a visit to the town of Remedios (the main square with the oldest church on the island) and drive to Santa Clara. Lunch at the local restaurant and a visit in the city, which capture by Che Guevara was decisive for the triumph of the Cuban revolution. During a short visit, we will see the monument of the armored train and the Memorial del Che (the burial place of the famous revolutionary). Check-in at a casa particular, dinner (additional fee) and overnight stay.
Day 19
After breakfast, check out and drive towards Matanzas – a city called the „Cuban Athens”. Visit to San Severino Castle, currently housing the Slavery Museum; photos in the historic XIX-century pharmacy, in the main square and at the beautiful Teatro Sauto, inspired on the Milanese Opera House. Lunch at a local restaurant and drive to snorkel at Playa Coral and swim in Cueva del Saturno. Transfer to the 5* all-inclusive hotel in Varadero. Farewell to the guide.
Day 20-21
All-inclusive hotel stay: sunbathing, swimming in the ocean and pools, use of bars, restaurants, water sports equipment and hotel animation and sports programs. Example hotels: Grand Memories, Melia Peninsula, Iberostar Laguna Azul, Iberostar Bella Vista. For an additional fee, it is possible to book a higher standard hotel and go on a catamaran excursion to the paradise island.

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel (by 12.00) and transfer to the airport in Havana depending on departure time.
